Jagex introduces PKing and PvP worlds!

Posted by Mr Dave AC on October 17, 2008

When RuneScape did away with the Wilderness and player killing (Pking) there was a large outcry among the players of RuneScape about the changes. A lot of players left the game and people began to say that RuneScape was dying. Jagex rushed the summoning skill to try to quell the exodus, but the requests for PvP (player vs player) kept coming, and now Jagex is doing something to satisfy these PvP requests; introducing new PvP worlds in which players can attack each other.

I am happy to announce that the chances I have talked about are reality. You can read the latest info on www.runescape.com under the October 15th section on the News page.

Mr Dave RuneScape Web Log changes direction:

Posted by Mr Dave AC on October 3, 2008

Browsing Associated Content I ran across the profile of Associated Content content producer RS who has 7.8 million page views. My curiosity got the better of me and so I decided to track the weekly page views of ten random CP’s to see where I measured up. My content is producing OK results but 23 pieces of content cannot really do much even with stellar results. After the week, I realised that the leading content producer on Associated Content gets 120,000 page views per week! (with 4k articles) I realise that RuneScape is a waste of time. My runescape articles are averaging 1.79 page views per article per day, while my other articles average 2.32 PVPAPD. Of the eight RuneScape articles, there are five duds, two average producers, and one ace. Of the fifteen other articles, I have eight duds, three average, and four aces, a better average. I set up the blog to share my runescape knowledge but the trouble with RuneScape is that it ends up taking a lot of time to play. Whoever designed the game was a genius. It is easy to get established and by the time the levels get trickier, the player is addicted. I smithed for a straight month and only leveled from 68 to 75. Of course, I try to balance computer time with a full time job and writing articles for associated content. The new direction of this blog will be all aspects except plants, which will be dealt with in MrDaveGardener’s blog; my plant blog. Currently, my main focus will be my presence on Associated Content. I use Associated Content to share my knowledge from my experience to the internet world and rather than waste my time repeating it here, go to http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/198515/mr_dave.html. Thanks for stopping by.

Jagex to reintroduce PKing in new PvP worlds!

RuneScape cheats:

Posted by Mr Dave AC on August 21, 2008

There are RuneScape cheats or rather, runescape shortcuts, that Jagex has put in the game for all players to take advantage of.

Beneath the house northeast of lumbridge castle you can find Sir Vant there. He will give you two lamps that give you 250 points XP each to whatever two skills you chose. Technically not a RuneScape cheat but as good as one without the risk.

Sheep shearer quest gives you 60gp plus 150 XP in crafting—great for using to bypass making pots in levels 1-6. Not an illegal runescape cheat, but a great shortcut.

Doric’s quest gives 180gp plus 1,300 mining experience; good enough to reach level 11 or 12 mining without having to mine unneccessary tin and copper that you will not need to smith. A great legal runescape cheat to get the mining up.

Knight’s sword quest gives 12,500 smithing experience! It is a more involving quest, but at http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/808319/runescape_the_knights_sword_quest.html?cat=19 you can find my easy-to follow guide on how to do he quest. However if you are the one who likes the thrill of solving the quest yourself, then the article will be a spoiler. This quest is one of the most powerful legal RuneScape cheats because it jumps you to level 29 smithing.

If you have money, you can get paid to smith, which acts ike a runescape cheat in and of itself.  At http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/808641/runescape_getting_paid_to_smith.html?cat=19 I tell how it works. The best way to reach level 30 is to raise some easy money and buy Iron bars. Look at your stats and see what amount of experience you need to each level 30, then divide that number by 25 and round up. That’s how many Iron bars you will need to smith to reach level 30 and smelt steel. Go to http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/900295/ten_proven_ways_to_make_a_lot_of_quick.html?cat=19 to learn how a beginner can utilise runescape cheats in the game to make some quick gold. I like to uncover legal runescape cheats and these are only some of the runescape cheats i have found. Stay tuned for more runescape cheats.

Tutorial Island ends

Posted by Mr Dave AC on May 18, 2008

In Tutorial Island, you can only build your level up to Level 3. Once you reach level three, anything you do does not give you any more experience. Anything you store in the tutorial bank gets erased–I left shrimp and some ore in the bank and when I got to the mainland, they were gone. Anything extra in your backpack gets erased also, I had several shrimps and ores. I was left with one of everything I either had made or had been given. I had eaten the bread on the tutorial island, but I found a loaf of bread in my pack when I reached the mainland. So the only thing transferable from Tutorial Island is the experience up to level three. Once you hit level three, leave. Mining is probably the only thing which is beneficial as well–all the other skills can be practiced as easily on the mainland. Why its easier to get the mining and smithing up to level three is because the mines, furnace, and anvils are all in the same spot and you can go straight from ore to smelting to smithing daggers in one sweep, instead of spending 5 minutes to travel from the mine to the bank, 5 more to get to the bank near the furnace to smelt, and 5 more minutes to get to the bank near the anvil.

Hello world!RuneScape adventure begins!

Posted by Mr Dave AC on May 17, 2008

Today I begin my journey into the world of RuneScape. Stay tuned as I create an account, get through Tutorial Island, and then use my extensive knowledge of the game to maximise my Runescape account.

Tutorial island opens up as you complete each aspect of the tutorial. There is a bank on the island, but no general store. Levels can be gained but I don’t know how many. I tried to smith a bronze mace when I got to level two but ws not allowed to do so. My adventure must pause. Tomorrow I will resume exploring the potentials of Tutorial Island.
